This post is simply an announcement of my podcast I debuted on April 28th.
Matthew 20:1-16 is a fantastic parable about the kingdom of heaven.
This is a book review I did on “Who’s Driving The Purpose-Driven Church: A Documentary On The Teachings Of Rick Warren” by James Sundquist.
Matthew 19:1-30 is an outstanding passage. Jesus never stops being the Messiah.
Here is a brief post that summarizes my most-viewed posts from April 2021. They include posts on Alex Seeley, Jen Wilkin, the Association of Related Churches (ARC) and the documentary “Church of Tares.”
This is a movie review I did on the documentary “Church of Tares.”
Matthew 18:1-35 is a super-gripping passage of Scripture.
This is a book review I did on “2000 Years of Christ’s Power (Volume 3): Renaissance and Reformation” by Nick Needham.
Here is a post I wrote on the biblical qualifications of a pastor.
Matthew 17:14-27 is a great passage. Jesus’ awesomeness is once again on display.
This is a book review I did on “When Faith Is Forbidden: 40 Days On The Frontlines With Persecuted Christians” by Todd Nettleton, the host of “The Voice of the Martyrs Radio.”
In this post, I answer various questions. In my responses, I write on the doctrine of vocation, being a disciple in the 21st century, and homelessness.
Matthew 17:1-13 is a beautiful passage. It shows the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 16:13-28 is a powerful and sobering passage. Who do you say Jesus Christ is?
In this post, I answer one’s question on the lesson and meaning of Luke 23:26-31.
Like it or not, Jonah is a real historical figure. Moreover, every Christian should beware of the bad doctrine of the Pharisees and Scribes.
Here is a brief post that summarizes my most-viewed posts from March 2021. They include posts on Todd Smith, Jen Wilkin, Good Fight Ministries and the Association of Related Churches (ARC).
Matthew 15:21-39 shows more of Jesus’s awesomeness and compassion.
This is a sermon review I did for a “sermon” by Alex Seeley of The Belonging Co. The “sermon” is from December 15, 2019. It is titled, “Your Harvest Is Determined By The Seed You Sow.”
Think the Pharisees were doctrinally sound? Think again! Also, if you ever hear someone talk about sharing his/her heart, you may wanna use caution.
This is a book review I did on “Let No One Despise You: Emerging Christians in a Post-Christian Society” by Tony Beard.
Matthew 14:13-36 shows more of Jesus’ awesomeness. He truly is the Son of God.
Matthew 13:53-14:12 is certainly sobering. We see the murder of John the Baptist.
This is a book review I did on “Ten Words To Live By: Delighting In And Doing What God Commands” by Jen Wilkin. The book was released on 3/31/2021.
More parables from Jesus here. His interpretation governs. Interesting that there is more about wailing and gnashing and teeth than money in these parables.
Matthew 13:1-23 is one of the most important passages in Scripture. In it, we see why Jesus speaks in parables
Matthew 12:14-50 has a lot happening. We see Jesus’ affirmation of Isaiah/Jonah, the Pharisees’ blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, and the fact Jesus is the only one who knows the thoughts of another.
In Matthew 12:1-13, Jesus shows He is Lord of the Sabbath. I once again cannot help but marvel at how awesome Jesus Christ is.
This is a book review I did on “Speaking In Tongues: Your Secret Weapon” by Todd Smith.
Deep stuff here in Matthew 11:1-19. We see John the Baptist was a fulfillment of prophecy. Also, did you know Jesus was a drinker? Not a drunk, but a drinker. Big difference there.
Matthew 10:24–42 features some sobering, powerful words from Jesus Christ.
Here is a brief post I wrote on how to live a Christian life while living with non-Christian parents.
In Matthew 10:1-23, we see the names of the twelve apostles, the message/method of these apostles, and what they are to expect. Tough, tough words here.
This is a book review I did on “Stop Trying: How To Receive — Not Achieve — Your Real Identity” by Cary Schmidt.
After doing no less than six miracles in chapter eight, Jesus Christ does more in chapter nine. He really is awesome

This is a book review I did on “Journey To The Cross: A 40-Day Lenten Devotional” by Paul David Tripp.

This is a biblical critique I did on The Shepherd’s Chapel in Gravette, Arkansas.
This is a book review I did on “When The Church Was Young: Voices Of The Early Fathers” by Marcellino D’Ambrosio.
Matthew 6:33 is often a misquoted verse. Moreover, the NLT has an AWFUL translation of that verse (as well as others within Matthew 6:19-34).
Matthew 6:1-18 continues in the Sermon on the Mount. Points of emphasis include almsgiving/charitable deeds, prayer and fasting.
Matthew 5:21-48 is super powerful (as is all of Scripture). Oh would we safeguard against sin!
This is a brief article I wrote explaining the apparent Bible difficulty of Terah’s age at Abraham’s birth.
5 And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. 2 Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.4 Blessed are those who mourn,For they shall be comforted.5 Blessed are the meek,For they shall inherit the earth.6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,For they shall be filled.7 Blessed are theContinue reading “100 Words (or less) and a Biblical Text: Matthew 5:1-20”
Was Jesus’ first ministry the nine blessings? Did He start His ministry by recruiting people? Matthew 4:12-25 is a beautiful text that helps explain what He first began to preach.
This is a brief article I wrote that addressed whose wrath was propitiated by Jesus Christ’s death on the cross.
4 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It isContinue reading “100 Words (or less) and a Biblical Text: Matthew 4:1-11”
This is a non-exhaustive article I wrote on what the Bible says about itself.
This is a book review I did on “2000 Years of Christ’s Power (Volume 2): The Middle Ages” by Nick Needham.
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. 14 And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” 15 But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be sonow, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.”Then he allowed Him.Continue reading “100 Words (or less) and a Biblical Text: Matthew 3:13-17”

This is a biblical critique I did on the organization known as ARC (Association of Related Churches).
The Bible is not about you. The Bible is also not about me. The Bible is about Jesus Christ (John 5:39-45; Luke 24). It is about who He is and what He has done. Sadly, heretics like Erwin McManus narcigete biblical passages to make the Bible about them. McManus did that in his train-wreck ofContinue reading “100 Words (or less) and a Biblical Text: Matthew 3:1-12”
2 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” 3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and allContinue reading “100 Words (or less) and a Biblical Text: Matthew 2:1-23”
The Bible is about Jesus (John 5:39-45; Luke 24). One can trace the line of the Messiah throughout the Old Testament. Therefore, if one sees Jesus Christ in the Old Testament, one is not necessarily eisegeting Him into the biblical text; Jesus is already there! I’ve heard people say Jesus came to change the world.Continue reading “100 Words (or less) and a Biblical Text: Matthew 1:1-25”
I’ve seen Matthew 7:1 misinterpreted. If people read onwards in this powerful chapter (which concludes Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, a sermon that began in chapter five), one would realize that Christians do judge (see also 1 Corinthians 5 and John 7:24). After all, it would make little to no sense to beware of falseContinue reading “100 Words (or less) and a Biblical Text: Matthew 7:1-29”
Have you ever thought that it was God’s will that false teachers be silenced? It’s not a novel thing. After all, Paul, the author of Titus, wrote Titus (like the rest of his epistles) by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:16-21). If God’s Word says that the mouths of deceivers must beContinue reading “100 Words (or less) and a Biblical Text: Titus 1:5-16”
The parable of the sheep and the goats, a parable of judgment, is an awesome parable. Unfortunately, I’ve seen folk butcher it in books (Bob Goff), sermons (David Ashcraft and Jeff Miner to name a couple) and the like. In this text, pay attention to when the judgment takes place. Furthermore, pay attention to whatContinue reading “100 Words (or less) and a Biblical Text: Matthew 25:31-46”
I’m currently working on a long article on the Association of Related Churches (ARC). I’m reviewing a sermon by each of the six founders. One of these founders (I won’t spoil for the upcoming article….sorry not sorry) said that the first thing God did was “He blessed.” He must have ripped Genesis 1:1-1:21 out ofContinue reading “100 Words (or less) and a Biblical Text: Genesis 1:1-2:3”
